We don't need 70K people. 50-100 will do. But we do need a media strategy.
only 30 people have voted so far....and we are talking about organizing 70,000 People.....Most of the users come here to get the latest news related to GC and to get answers to their questions....50% of users won't even log in to the site if they don't have any "URGENT Question" or "Need Help.."( I know that 50% of my friends don't log in to the site everyday) Type of questions to Post...I bet more then half of the users won't be aware of these efforts that we are trying to put in. I think we need to first inform everybody that IV needs theirs support. we should send emails to every users to come and check the site..

I have talked to a representative and he very patiently explained me about the mess.
He clearly and very clearly told me that they have a deadline to send all receipts for June end and July 2nd filers by friday (tomorrow) or worst case monday.
He mentioned that they are working hard to meet this deadline.
Hope this clears the anxiety.

Dont mean to dampen your spirits, happy for the poster of this thread. Could have been lucky to get approved while people like me ( Sep 2003) PD waiting 485 filed 3 yrs ago.

IV has had its first big success this year and we should all be proud of what we can all do. We worked hard and left no stone unturned to get this relief for our members. During the last few days there has been some movement on the National Defense Authorization Act and work on DREAM and SKIL provisions. While we were fully focused on the 485 relief, we did not lose sight of the developments. We have built a positive momentum and have been getting positive signals from key lawmakers. It is now upto us how we can seize the opportunity and focus on the lobbying efforts on legislative front. After seeing the overwhelming support of our members we are also encouraged to move ahead with full steam and explore the possibility of our provisions in the upcoming legislative activities. We stood in the backlog queue. 3 years. 4 years. Now, we are standing in the I-485 adjustment of status (to apply) queue.
Neither the USCIS nor anyone else have real hard numbers of how many are in each in queue. So, what makes you think that you will NOT be stranded again, like us, in the latter queue. Let me tell you; things are not pretty. PERM has eased or will ease LCs and backlogs. The attempt at IV will help folks affected by retrogression take less years to apply for I-485.

i have seen so many people got approved from wells fargo on 485 pending stage???
i'm in same problem if somebody can light on this.....
Is 485 application notice and Ead plus I 140 will be enought for Refinance from well fargo?
i have current mortgage with well fargo and i'm trying to do refinance after 4 years with good credit history with no payment missed in last 4 years.
any help would be really helpful to talk with wells fargo

I think the advantage of LLC against Sole Prop is about liability.
If some one sues your business, LLC offers you protection, but Sole prop. may not.
If you are on EAD, you can start the business in your wife's name. Now the risk is that she will run away and take the business with her; can't say that would really be a bad thing.
S-corp is much more complex compared to LLC.
There is nothing in the law that disallows one from opening and operating LLC or INC type of business. To open a CORPORATION one needs to be a U.S. Citizen as far as I know, but for LLC or Inc no such requirement. Last week I went to Trenton for DL renewal with H1 extension receipt (original), letter from employer, but in vain. They need approved docs. Luckily this week I got the H1 extended and today I carried the original approved H1 I-797A and got the DL extended. I got only 2 years H1/DL extension after 6 year completion with I-140 approved and 485 in progress. Fyi

I am not sure thats correct.
Per IRS regulation Section 163 (C), as well as Publication 936, interest paid on primary and secondary residences up to an aggregate one million dollars in loan amount is tax deductible. The IRS regulation does not specify that the home must be located in the United States, and thus it seems logical that interest paid on a home loan on property in India is in fact deductible
(please consult your tax advisor for applicability to your specific tax situation).
You can quote any IRS publication/regulation, which is issued bt IRS with the assumption that the Lender issues a 1040 to you and simultaneously notifies the IRS the intrerst earned by the Lender from your Mortgage .
And the point is how do you show the intrest paid on the Mortgage if the International Lender does not issue a 1040. Any attachment/print out you provide showing the intrest you paid is not suffice as long as the IRS does not know that intrest was not accrued in their File. Since International Banks dont register their intrest earned with IRS.
All I mean to say is, it is a Closed loop sytem where the Lender registers his intrest earned with IRS and sends a 1040 to you so that you can claim the tax exemption based on your intrest paid

Considering our opportunity cost, many of us may be better off packing our bags and heading back - this may have an impact on the feds, the companies and people at large who think that WE are a burden on the society. All these artificial barriers and hurdles are a reflection of this.
Its quite apparent that there is no end game in sight, there is no motive here(ref to subash and gandhi message by asharda), no end game...it can only get worse. The Feds have succeed in Scr....wing US.
bottom line - Do we really add value to the society here?
convince the people and this will be the ONLY solution to our problems.
My brothers in blood, please calm down� Mahatma Gandhi had his own way of fighting for freedom and so did Subhash Chandra Bose. They must have agreed and disagreed with each other on many things. But at the end of day, their motive was the same �Justice and Freedom�.
We might have our differences, our opinions and ways of doing things, but we need to understand that our motive is the same. We should stop bickering with each other and concentrate on the main goal. We should keep encouraging our members to join hands and unite and fight for the cause.
Though you might not agree with each other, you still need to see how severely the issue must have affected the other person which is why they are here and ready to fight.
Please pull your swords to fight the injustice rather than fight with each other.

So the smart senator will force more jobs to be outsourced. These jobs will never comeback once gone. If we look back at the 2000 recession, it caused a major shift in the way US companies looked at outsourcing. Pre-2000 many companies didn't believe that all jobs could be outsourced. 2000 recession forced them to think otherwise.
These kind of bills will cause a re-thinking in corporate america's thought process. They will think of creative ways to outsource. Against this senator's hopes, it will reduce jobs here.
