For your information, i have contributed to IV monetarily. It just does not show up on the handle for some reason i do not know.
So you are looking for motivation? Your post do not indicate that you are looking for motivation. There are those who are undecided or who cannot find enough energy/motivation to do something, and those people need motivation. You don't fall in that category. You are pretty much convinced that you don't belong here. Now you are just spoiling the environment to make sure that others all leave looking at you and mad-dog bickering. And one need not be a rocket scientist to figure that out. Its obvious. There goes your flag for "award for motivation". What's next, you need a shoulder to cry?

No this does not apply to 485. It affects only immigrant 140 petition for alien worker.
AILA (http://www.aila.org/) has an analysis of the immigration bill in an article "Top 5 Concerns Regarding Employment-Based Immigration in S. 1348":
there is a disturbing section in there:
Gaps in Green Card Availability � Immigrant visa petitions filed after May 15, 2007 on the basis of the current employment-based preference system will be rejected. � During the period between May 15, 2007 and the date the new merit based system is up and running (likely October 1, 2008), no new employment-based green card applications can be filed.
Any validity to this claim ?
If so, Does this mean that all I-485 that can be filled with the latest jump in priority date will be voided ?

My EB3 PD is Oct 2003. I-140 approved and I-485 ND is July24th.when can i expect to get the green card?. thanks in advance.

How does that work? There is no law or process to connect an abandoned labor. I had approved labor with a PD of 1999 that got lost when I switched companies. But no one seems to be connecting that to me.

I think you do have to change your ideas in this case. Its very simple we cannot do what you plan to do. Lobbying is the only way for us. Illegals did that because they did not anything to loose. We are not in that situation, GC would be nice to have else we can go home or another country and we can survive.
So instead of waisting our time in talking about this, we should try to add members and contribute. I know you are an active member but I am just telling.
first, I don't know what you mean by "Senior Member like you coming up with this idea". Seniority on this site I think is by how long the have been registered. Second, even if it means older members, what does age have to do with this idea?
I have already said that most IV members (clearly you are one) are opposed to this.
My thoughts happen to be different from yours, and I dont plan on changing my ideas anytime soon.
Of course for this to work there has to be a signficant number of participants, otherwise actually nothing is going to work. And even with significant participation, there are no guarantees: look at how many people called Sen Sessions, but still made no difference.
Last, dont you guys get vacation?? Who is talking abut losing money? If you are paid hourly then dont take part.
and if you dont agree you dont need me to tell you dont be a part of this.
But, as mentioned many, many, many times before, I am for this idea, or something that gets attention in a big way.

I contributed $100 by Paypal and sent out an eamil to about 15 of my friends who are in the same boat as I am. My email mentioned everything IV is trying to achieve and encouraged them to contribute too. I hope atleast a few of them will come forward.
If all of us contributing can email our friends and encourage them to do the same - that might help contributions pour in faster.

I'd look at it a different way. Without USCIS u and I wudn't have made it to the US. When u came to the US, u implicitly agreed upon the rules and regulations of USCIS. When u applied for ur GC, u very well knew what USCIS is and how they function.They have an immigration system which has been going on for several years now and all the immigration aspirants have played by their rules and never questioned how it worked though their cases were delayed for whatever reason. Why shud the USCIS even entertain somebody questioning them now? They'll simply say...Who are u to ask? We have been functioning like this for ages now. If u dont like it, just say good bye...but this is how we function.
That is what every government wishes their citizens would do--just accept like obedient little sheep. I say that one should choose not to give them a free pass. Otherwise they'll continue to walk all over you. Citizen or not, being a sheep is not an option. Besides, we did not move to a dictatorship. We moved to a democracy--or at least it is trumpeted as such. Let them walk the walk.

Hi,
USCIS online status showed that my Approved AP was mailed on Jan 8, 2008. Looking that I bought ticket for travel on January 29, 2008 but untill today I or my attorney did not get the approval letter yet. I am under very mental pressure whether I will get it by Jan 29 or not. If I have to change my travel plan there will be huge cost involved as I have to change four tickets.
Do any of gurus have any idea what should I do ? My attorney is not helping me. In my area (Washington) no infopass appointment available before Jan 29. Do you think walk in into the local office will help me even if I dont have any appintment ?
